Day 37: Tempers Flare

February 28, 2012

By 9:30 a.m this morning, I had two legislators ticked off at me. In both instances, I feel like I did the right thing but could have visited with them privately first. One of them was a house member who pulled me off the senate floor to chew me out. I handled it well, and told him that he needed to calm down.

Unfortunately, it is merely a sign of things to come. Tempers generally flare the last week of the session as priorities are set and bills die.

In the afternoon, I was able to get my Veterans Training bill and my adoption bill through committees, which was great. My resolution condemning the NDAA also passed its second reading in the Senate by a large margin, with only two dissenting votes.
